Privacy Policy

A straightforward look at the information ChatGPTDetector.me collects while you’re using our website and writing-review tools, what we do with it, who we may disclose it to, and the choices you have.

Last updated: October 20, 2026

At a glance

  • Whatever text or documents you submit go toward the analysis you request and toward showing you the results.
  • Personal information isn’t something we sell, and your documents stay out of advertising and out of training for our own AI models.
  • Submissions and reports may be stored for a short while during processing, then deleted or de-identified as our retention practices provide.
  • Nothing you submit is intentionally published or intentionally added to a public academic repository.
  • Certain features lean on specialized third-party processing services, which receive the content needed to carry out the function you asked for.

This Policy governs the online Service run by ChatGPTDetector.me, and using that Service means acknowledging the practices set out below. Our Terms of Service go hand in hand with this Policy, so please read both.

1. The information we gather

What you submit

Text, documents and the report data tied to them are processed when you submit them, so that we can deliver the analysis you asked for. Depending on the tool, that could be AI-writing analysis or a grammar, citation, plagiarism or humanization check.

When you get in touch

When you contact us, we may collect the details you choose to share in your message, so we can make sense of your request and answer it.

Usage and device information

While you use the site, we may automatically collect your IP address, browser and device information, which pages you view, how you interact with features, timestamps, referral information and diagnostic logs. Cookies and similar technologies are also in use, supporting preferences, security and analytics.

2. What we use it for

We rely on this information to:

  • offer ChatGPTDetector.me, maintain it and improve it over time;
  • process what you submit and return your results;
  • reply to support questions and privacy requests;
  • track how reliably the Service runs, guard against fraud and abuse, and keep the Service protected; and
  • satisfy our legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

Submitted documents play no part in training our own AI models, and they aren’t used for advertising.

3. When information is shared

Selling personal information is not something we do. Any disclosure is limited to the information needed and to the three groups of recipients below:

  • Service providers that support our storage, hosting, document processing, security, analytics and customer support.
  • Authorities or other parties, if reasonably necessary to obey the law, investigate abuse, protect rights and safety, or respond to valid legal process.
  • Parties to a business transaction, in connection with an acquisition, merger, reorganization, financing or sale of assets, provided appropriate safeguards apply.

A third-party service acting independently is bound by its own terms and privacy notice when it processes information.

4. Your text and your reports

We designed ChatGPTDetector.me as a private review service. We rely on your submissions to run the analysis you’ve requested and to let you access its results. We don’t intentionally publish what you submit, and we don’t intentionally place it in a public academic repository either.

A number of features make use of specialized third-party processing services. Those providers are given the content required for the function you asked for, and the infrastructure they process it on may be located in other countries.

If you lack the right or authority to share confidential, legally restricted or highly sensitive information, don’t submit it.

5. Keeping and deleting information

We hold personal information only while it’s reasonably necessary for the purposes this Policy describes, such as resolving disputes, meeting legal obligations, keeping the Service secure and providing it.

Content you submit, and the reports we generate from it, may be kept temporarily for processing; after processing, our retention practices provide for their deletion or de-identification. Backup copies and security logs may linger for a limited time before they’re removed through routine deletion.

You can ask us to delete personal information by using the contact details on our Contact page. We may retain certain records when the law calls for it, or when legitimate fraud-prevention or security needs make that necessary.

6. Protecting information

To help protect information, we rely on reasonable technical and organizational measures such as access controls and encrypted transmission. Absolute security is beyond what any online service can guarantee, ours included, so keep confidential documents out of your submissions, along with sensitive personal information the requested analysis doesn’t need.

7. Your options and rights

Your rights depend on where you live, but they may include the right to:

  • access personal information, correct or delete it, or receive a copy;
  • object to some processing, or ask that it be restricted; and
  • withdraw consent if processing is based on it.

Non-essential cookies can be controlled in your browser or with any consent settings available to you. Turning off required cookies may stop some features of the Service from working.

Privacy requests go through our Contact page. We may have to verify a request before completing it, and you may also have a right to appeal our response or to take a complaint to your local data-protection authority.

8. Processing in other countries

ChatGPTDetector.me and its service providers may handle information outside your own country, and the privacy laws there may not be the same as where you live. Where required, we apply appropriate safeguards to these international transfers.

9. Young users

Children under 13 are not the audience for the Service, and we don’t knowingly gather personal information from them. If your local law requires an older minimum age, using the Service is allowed only with a parent’s or legal guardian’s involvement. Please contact us if you suspect a child shared personal information with us without appropriate permission.

10. Updates to this Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy when the Service, our practices or applicable law change. Each revised version will be posted here, with the “Last updated” date above refreshed to match. Should a change materially affect your rights, we’ll give additional notice where required.
